On these nights, the Spark Art Society “Woods & Workshop” is open as a gathering space for all artists, creatives, and musicians to fellowship, write, collaborate, play and sing, paint, scrapbook, work on a project together, or even just talk and hang out! Bring your own snacks, beverages and anything creative you want to work on. Or just bring yourself to hangout with other artists! Musicians, bring your instruments! There are workshop tables and some basic art supplies are included (see below), and “the Woods” is a comfortable but atmospheric lounging area. Coffee, tea, and water are provided.

Before the start of all the holiday hustle bustle, come make some gifts in a relaxed, fun environment, and have a head start on your holiday shopping! On “Black Friday” November 25th, pop in anytime between 10a - 2p, come and shop at the Spark Store for unique and artistic gifts! While you shop, have some hot cocoa and cookies! In addition to the shopping, we have a book-signing happening! Our founder, Heidi Rickard, has just published her first kids’ storybook called “Ice Cream From The Sky”, and she will be signing your books! PAINTING - LADIES’ NIGHT (Acrylic Pour Painting)
NOTE: “LADIES’ NIGHT” Workshops are for adults 21+ and allow for ladies to bring their own wine or beer.
Swirling the colors together in Acrylic pour painting make it an easy art form for everyone! Come and learn the basics of pour painting on a canvas. Then use your new skills later on your own projects…maybe stationary, glassware, a tabletop, and more! No previous painting experience required—this is a very fun and exploratory workshop. Great for a fun night out with a small group of friends or for yourself!

KIDS' ARTS & CRAFTS
How amazing is it when children can use their imaginations and have fun creating things with their hands? They are going to have a blast at this arts and crafts workshop! They’ll make and take home 3 different art/craft projects, one of which will be something for Halloween/Fall! We’ll also do a few games together, meet new friends, and have some Autumn treats! This is a great workshop to celebrate the Fall or Halloween!
Instructor: Heidi Rickard has 25+ years experience decorative and interior painting, crafting, creating, and various arts. She also loves creating fun experiences for kids, and is currently working on publishing her first kids’ storybook!

WORSHIP PAINTING - w/ Natalie Ziemba
Instructor: Natalie Ziemba is a Metro Detroit based artist and also serves as the Visual Art Director for “United Adoration”. She specializes in Live Painting events at churches, festivals, concerts, weddings, and more. She loves to guide people into times of prayer, worship, healing, and wholeness — through the medium of paint and movement. In this workshop, she will teach and guide us to do an abstract painting with acrylics on canvas (on a stand-up easle), while we worship, pray, and tune in to what the Holy Spirit is saying! No experience is necessary for this workshop. Coffee, tea, snacks, and water is provided.

This workshop is for adults and kids who are interested in writing songs(lyrics and music). We’ll help guide them in a light, fun way that really fosters them getting in a good rhythm of writing. We’ll also talk about things they can do with their songs, including a presentation night that we’ll schedule together. KIDS’ ART CAMP!
This day camp for grade school aged kids is a day camp like no other! Their imaginations and creativity are going to come alive in a big way, as they are guided through 3 different art projects that they will do individually and take home, and will also get to be a part of a collaborative group art project. Lunch is included and there will be a few imagination activities and group games, so it’s a fun day with friends and an opportunity to make some new ones!

PROPHETIC COLLAGES - Jessie Rickard
Learn to create meaning, story, and art through collaging, for yourself or someone else! Join us on a process of opening your heart and mind to put the internal to the external in a whole new way! Jessie will lead you through activations and teach you how to take scraps, tickets, random writings, clippings…really anything you want, and turn them into a beautiful prophetic collage that tells a story. These collages are great as a journaling tool or even just a new way to process and remember prophetic words or things you’ve received spiritually. Make it as part of a sketch book or as a single page that can be framed. You can choose to make this for yourself —OR'‘—…FYI…These make phenomenal gifts! People who receive these are sure to feel loved, built-up, and celebrated. It’s a gift they can cherish forever.
Instructor: Jessie Rickard is a gifted storyteller, filmmaker, and videographer. EPIC EPOXY! - Heidi Rickard
Learning to work with epoxy can open up many possibilities…recover an old laminate countertop to look just like stone, use it as a floor covering in a room, or even do small projects such as keychains and jewelry! Come and learn the basics of working with epoxy and then practice by covering the top of an end table (which you can pick up a few days later after it hardens!)
Cost: $175 which includes instruction, guidance during the project, a small end table and all the supplies needed.

WORSHIP FLAGS - Rachelle Garretson
Have you ever been in a worship service and seen colorful flags flying? Are you wondering what that is all about? Or maybe you’re interested in waving flags yourself! Of course, anyone can wave a flag, but surprisingly, there is so much to learn about the movements and heart of this artistic, yet worshipful expression. This unique workshop explains the “why behind the what” of worship flags in a church worship service setting. It includes a time of teaching and interactive worship activations. You’ll learn about the spiritual purpose of worship flags and why they’re so powerful! You’ll even learn and practice some flag movements. Flags will be available to practice with, and in the Spark Store, there are options to purchase ready-made flags or even place a custom order for your own unique flag.
